Australia’s Balance series rode the progressive house DJ mix wave pioneered by Global Underground and Renaissance. Arguably, it’s been stronger for longer than both of the industry heavyweights.
Back in 2013, series figurehead Tom Pandic asked me to run the rule over the 23 releases to date, which I whittled down to a Top 7. Writing in early 2019, Guy J’s Balance Presents and the 2018 double-shot from James Zabiela (Balance 029) and Uone (the first double-disc Balance Presents set) would probably round out the Top 10.
