Flume was big at the tail end of 2013. He was big in Australia and he was big everywhere.

So big that while I was in Manchester as this story was gestating, I found myself sharing a hostel dorm with a pair of Kiwis who warmed themselves up for that night’s Hospital Records takeover of the Warehouse Project not with Shapeshifter, but with the latest Flume drop (a collab with someone, from memory).

Inthemix asked me to pull some of the other players in the so-called ‘Australian Sound’ together for a deep-dive feature, and Kilter, Oisima, KLP and Dizz1 were only too happy to oblige.
